More Lyric Opera House, Virginia MN
On 6-15-08 N.M.P.I. conducted another in an ongoing investigation of the Lyric. It is one of the coolest places we have been able to investigate in quite some time! Here is a photo that Cheri captured and we have no explanation for. I think that we may have a possible paranormal photo but of course we can never be 100%. We just can't explain it. See what you think!
One thing that we constantly state about NMPI is the professionalism and diligence of the team. Due to that diligence and quest for the truth as opposed to being the thrill seeking rookies that would have never questioned this photo and would have called it a ghost, we discovered that there is a brown dress hanging on that side with a bow on the back. This bow has sequence on it that caused a reflection back toward the camera. We dig for the truth whether it is paranormal or not. Here is the photo evidence that shows this picture to NOT be paranormal but a mundane cause. There are many groups out there that would have never brought the truth to the public but then again...they would have never even attempted to debunk the photograph.
Lyric Opera House, Virginia MN
On 9-20-07 N.M.P.I. conducted an investigation at the Lyric Opera House in Virginia, MN. It used to be on the Vaudeville circuit and then it was a State Theater in the late 1940's-1950's. It is a very cool place and has plenty of ghosts to go around! Check out our EVP page for some very cool evidence. This photo is one that we are not sure if we can attribute to paranormal causes or not. We are still on the fence about it but take a look and use your own judgment about it! The red in the center doesn't look like a flash anomaly to us and we can't find an explanation.
For the historian in us and hopefully in you, here are some photos of the place when it was still called the Lyric Opera House. These are some very cool old photos even if they are not paranormal in nature.
William A. Irvin, Duluth MN
On July 29th, 2006 N.M.P.I. was fortunate enough to be allowed to conduct an investigation of the William A. Irvin, a 650 foot ore ship that is permanently docked in Duluth MN. It is a very daunting task to investigate a ship like this. It is time spent in areas that have low hanging pipes and ceilings as well as steep ladders that must be traversed to get around the ship. It was a fantastic journey and I am very much looking forward to climbing on board again for another interesting investigation of the ship!
Phil Bodle spent a little bit of time in the lowest levels of the engine room on board the ship. While down there he managed to capture an anomaly on film that has us baffled. If you look toward the top of the photo and right next to the ladder you will see it. We did return to try and both replicate this shot and/or to find some mundane explanation for it but we were unsuccessful on both accounts.
Jane Ranum's House, Grand Marais MN
During an investigation on June 8th, 2006 at Jane Ranum's house in Grand Marais MN, we Gina, Kyle and myself had an experience in the basement. Our logos on our shirts (glow in the dark if you didn't know) were disappearing from our view as if someone were passing right in front us. During the time myself and Gina were having this experience, Kyle captured this mist on film. If you look closely you can see that it is swirling around me and could explain the experience. We were not able to reproduce the anomaly even when the homeowner attempted to re-create it.
Lakeview Cemetery, Buhl MN
This photo was taken back in 2003. It was shot by me at the Lakeview cemetery in Buhl, MN. Out of three rolls of film, this was the only shot like this. This photo is of what we believe to be a good mist. This photo has been seen on Country Music Television and will be adorning the cover of my new book that is coming out in September of 2007.
This photo was shot by me also in the Lakeview Cemetery in Buhl, MN. We believe this shot to be of an unexplainable energy. I know, many of you think it is a bug. I eliminated that possibility by sending the photo to the entomology department at the University of Minnesota. They told me that it is not a photograph to any insect in Minnesota. They didn't know what it is but they said that it most surely was NOT a bug.
Old North Hibbing Cemetery, Hibbing MN
This photo was taken by Rhonda on her first real paranormal investigation and was her very first capture of anything paranormal. I view this photo to be one of a mist. It appears to have an almost human form to it which makes it interesting. Rhonda believes that this photo looks like an angel. Is it? Heck, I am not sure but it is a very interesting photo none the less.
Ashley's House, Cohasset MN
This shot was taken by Brian also. It was captured in the basement of Rhonda's niece's house in Cohassett MN that she was living in at the time. If you look closely at the upper right-hand side of the photo, you will see what appears to be a mist in the shot. We did check to see if there were any reflection possibilities and none of the other photos taken showed anything like this one except for the one below which we believe is the same mist but moved to another location of the room. I am particularly impressed at the that it did move and change shape between the two photos which were taken back to back and only seconds apart.
This is the second shot captured in the house in Cohassett, MN. Is it possible that this photo is of a mist that moved between the two photos taken back to back. Is it possible that this one is a vortex? I am not sure if it is or not but I would like to point out that it does contain what appears to be a swirling, almost tornado-like appearance.
Hibbing High School, Hibbing MN
Both of these shots were taken by Brian. In the top shot you see in the bottom right-hand corner, a metallic object appears that was not an object there in the physical form anyway. The bottom shot as a shot taken just after the top shot. They were taken one after the other and while Brian was sitting in the same chair on the stage of the Hibbing high school auditorium. When you overlay both photos, the object in question should be in both but mysteriously it is only in the one shot. Yet another interesting fact surrounding this photo...this object appeared to be in an area that was well traversed by the entire team. Being up on the stage, it was an area that we moved back and forth through quite often.
This picture is what really set off the Hibbing High School auditorium for our group. It is from a yearbook. We have later come to find out that this picture and the ones below are the result of photography from Chuck Perry, the stage manager at the high school. The corner of flooring that you see in the upper right corner is because the picture was overlapped with another shot of the hallway. This picture as well as the others have only two possible explanations, everything else has been ruled out. Either they are a real ghost sitting in the auditorium or they are a double exposure. Chuck swears they are the real deal but in the end, you will have to decide for yourself.

Christie's House, Mountain Iron, MN
Here are five still photos that were taken from the camcorder video (which can be seen on our video page) in Christy's apartment in Mountain Iron, MN on December 13th, 2003. This "arm" moved across the screen while a member of our group and myself were watching. We could see it on the camcorder but could not see it with the naked eye. The camera was set up with the night shots feature activated. It was on a tripod in the hallway of the apartment and aimed and focused into the baby's room where most of the activity was reported to be taking place. I am posting the five frames in the order that they happened.
Lakeside Cemetery, Coleraine MN
This photo was taken by one of our members during an investigation of Lakeside Cemetery in Coleraine, MN. This cemetery is the location of the famous Bertha's Grave. The person with who we think might be Bertha is Drew Nesser from California. Drew is psychic and reported to have had a very nice conversation with Bertha herself.
Here are a few mist shots captured at Lakeside. The stone that you see in the third photo is Bertha's headstone.
Christie's Other House, Virginia MN
This photo is one that I took in the attic of Christy's house. When I first saw this object, I thought it to be insulation sticking out. I did a little double checking and called Christy and asked her to look. She did and verified that there were no tears in the paper. I then started looking for comparison shots and was unable to find one in the stills that matched the area. As I was watching the videotape from the area I noticed that when I moved the video camera over in order to film the stairs, there was nothing in the area. Is it an orb? Could very well be, it is three dimensional.
Moon Lake, Northern MN
These three shots are ones that Rhonda captured at the Moon Lake Residence. This is a very interesting property that we have been able to determine is very haunted. It has quite the past and not all of it is good things happening.
